If the road and harbor issues are resolved, İnebolu becomes the gate of Central Anatolia

30.03.2018 / Kastamonu

TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, speaking at the İnebolu Chamber of Commerce and Industry, stated that following the Ilgaz Tunnel, the Kastamonu-Inebolu road needs to be completed quickly, “The issue of Inebolu Harbor has to be resolved as soon as possible. This port is the foundation of industrialization in this region. With these two goals completed, Inebolu will become the gateway for Central Anatolia. It will pave the way for exports to Black Sea countries.”

TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu attended the opening ceremony of the new service building and consultation meeting of İnebolu Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Hisarcıklıoğlu began his speech by praying for the grace of Allah upon our martyred soldiers during Operation Olive Branch in Afrin, going on to say that İnebolu is a wonderful place with its nature as well as its history. “From sea tourism to nature and winter tourism, it is suitable 12 months of the year. We have high potential in tourism, but due to lack of facilities we cannot fully make use of it. So we need to work more on this. Gulf country citizens and Arabs have a great interest in the Black Sea. These are all paying customers. In fact, there is a good opportunity ahead of us. The Western Black Sea Tourism Promotion and Cooperation Fair will be held in Istanbul in June. It will be the first and only regional fair of its kind in Turkey. We expect this fair to bring serious benefits to the region, attracting both investors and tourists. We need to make use of this in the best way.”

Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that geographical markers present an important opportunity for prosperity, “Inebolu Trade and Industry Chamber has started to work for geographical markers of the İnebolu bread and the İnebolu cranberry tarhana soup. I hope that when the Turkish Patent Authority approves, these 2 flavors of İnebolu will be taken under protection.”

- Economic figures from the Kastamonu economy

Sharing some striking figures related to the Kastamonu economy, the TOBB President said, “When we compare 2016 and 2017, the increase in the number of insured employees increased by 23% in Kastamonu while the national average was 10%. When you look at export figures, the national average increased by 10%; Kastamonu increased its exports by 190%. This is a terrific figure. The national average protested bills increase was 1% while it decreased by 17% in Kastamonu. This says, ‘Trust the people of Kastamonu. They stand behind their word.’”

- “I am keeping an eye on İnebolu”

Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that he is keeping a close eye on the works of the İnebolu Chamber of Commerce and Industry and that the new service building will increase the chamber’s service capacity and quality. Hisarcıklıoğlu said that the new target for the İnebolu Chamber of Commerce and Industry should be to get the '5 star' title as an accredited room. Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “The new service building is essentially a matter of vision. The chamber isn’t after profit; it shows that they believe in the future of İnebolu and aim to provide better services to it. I extend my deepest gratitude to everyone, from the Chairman to the management, to the Council, to the Secretary General and all the staff; may Allah bless you. We work together with Chairman Şakir İşeri in Ankara. Our reports on the economy in the TOBB commission benefit from his examination and contribution. With his efforts, we have taken two very important steps in our Chambers: Online office and one-stop-shop for company establishment procedures.

- School promise to Inebolu

İnebolu Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Şakir İşeri requested a Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School from Hisarcıklıoğlu. TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu promised to build a school for İnebolu, life and duties permitting.
