12.06.2014 / Tekirdağ

TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, TOBB Board Vice President Ali Kopuz and TOBB Council Member Cengiz Günay visited the Malkara Chamber of Commerce and Industry and met with the council members.

Giving a speech there, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu said that it was their fourth visit to Malkara. Pointing out that there is a woman member of the Malkara TSO Board, Hisarcıklıoğlu stressed the need for supporting women’s entrepreneurship for the benefit of Turkey.

Congratulating Malkara TSO for establishing an entrepreneurship course, the TOBB President touched on the importance of encouraging youth, especially women, towards entrepreneurship.

Pointing out that they are one of the main focal points of the chambers system in the world, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “Akhism was established in Malkara 600 years ago. Akhism is the same as our chambers system. The Ottoman army used to get all of its supplies from Malkara. There is something Malkara can do in regards to its future with its accumulated experiences of 600 years. You are indeed fortunate; blessed by Allah with such rich and varied land, with double the yield of anywhere else in Turkey. You must use this well.”

Emphasizing unity and solidarity, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “Prosperity through unity and solidarity; anguish in dissent. There is prosperity where there is unity. The richer Malkara gets, the richer we get. Malkara must once again fulfill its historical role.

Pointing out that a geo marker has been registered for Malkara cheese, Hisarcıklıoğlu said that other local specialties should also be registered.

While they were leaving Malkara TSO, a 65 year old citizen named Önder Akyol stopped TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu and presented him with a portrait with photographs of Atatürk and Namık Kemal. Accepting the gift, Hisarcıklıoğlu expressed his gratitude.
