Releasing a message regarding the flood caused by heavy rain the previous day in the counties of Dikmen and Durağan and in the county of Canik in Samsun when the River Mert rose and caused the death of 9, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that the grim tableaux caused by the flood has deeply saddened everyone and said, “The pain of the loss of our citizens has wounded our hearts. Our wish of Allah is to never live through such disasters again.”

In his message Hisarcıklıoğlu said:
“As the wounds from the floods which affected the Dikmen and Durağan counties of Sinop are being dressed, we have learned to our great sorrow that today we have lost 9 of our citizens, 4 of them children, to flooding in the Canik county of Samsun.
Receiving such grievous news on a blessed night has wounded the heart of our people. In the face of such disaster, we must stand in unity and solidarity.

On behalf of the Turkish business world, I pray for the grace of Allah on those who have lost their lives in the flood and present our condolences to their families, loved ones and our whole nation.”
