TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, attended the live broadcast on NTV and emphasized the importance of the Ability'10 Specialized Vocational Training Centers (UMEM) Project. Hisarcıklıoğlu defined Turkey's most important problem as lack of profession and said “I want to announce this not only to employers but also labor unions. We should realize this as a great project. We aim people to gain profession and jobs with this project. There is no such a big project that will be useful to people.”

 

Hisarcıklıoğlu stated “Ability'10 is developed by the Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Ministry of Labour and Social Security, Ministry of Education, the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey, TOBB University of Economics and Technology” and said:
 
“An example of this Project have already taken place in Korea. Korea also trained about 600 thousand people. More accurately, the people were subject to courses that will help them to gain profession. In this context, Turkey’s model was developed by taking it as a role model. For the first time, such a vocational training project is taking place in collaboration with public and private sector. And the target is having 1 million people gained profession in 5 years. And, the main aim of the project is also employing 90 percent of 1 million people.
 
 
“First, most needed professions will be identified”
 
 
President of TOBB, Hisarcıklıoğlu, answered the question which was about the stages of Project: First stage of the Project is identifying the employers’ needs in terms of employees. Otherwise, people can be trained but the important thing is if there is a need for that profession.
 
 
Field visits were realized and the needs of businesses were identified. For example,currently 40 per cent of employees is looking for employees working on information technology.
 
There are 20.000 demands from private sector
 
Under the leadership of chambers of commerce and industry until now 20.000 demands were collected from business and the target in 5 years will be 1 million people.
 
 
Hisarcıklıoğlu referred the public support in the project, and stated that especially to improve the infrastructure of vocational high schools, about 100 trillion liras were spent. Hisarcıklıoğlu underlined the support of Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey, TOBB ETU and TEPAV'la both together, in field analysis, launch and all infastructure works.
 
 
Message from Hisarcıklıoğlu to private sector Persident of TOBB, Hisarcıklıoğlu, gave the message to the private sector and underlined the advantages of the Project.
 
 
There is no such a big project that will be useful to people. People will be trained according to your needs and there is no burden for employers. And the cost of adaptation is zero for the employers. Everybody should be aware of this great project. For our society, our future… the people will gain profession and will be employed.
