Speaking at the kickoff ceremony for the Turkey – Iran eTIR Pilot Project, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “This is an important step in reaching the 30 billion USD trade goal we have set with Iran for 2016.”​

Attending the B20 meetings wherein China has took over duties as term chair, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that the global economy is facing huge problems, “We can’t solve all of these problems by ourselves; we must cooperate.” Hisarcıklıoğlu, as former term chair, shared his experiences with the Chinese representatives.​

TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu and the delegation accompanying him visited the Qiantang e-Commerce Intelligence Park in Zhejiang Province capital Hangzhou. The park was established for the development of e-commerce and facilitate business for companies. Accompanying Hisarcıklıoğlu on his visit were TOBB Board Vice Presidents Ender Yorgancılar and İbrahim Çağlar.​

Kayseri Chamber of Commerce elected TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu as “Townsman of the Year.” Hisarcıklıoğlu received his award from the President of the Republic of Turkey Erdoğan.​

TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu paid a condolatory visit to the Koç family in regards to the passing of Koç Holding Board of Directors Chairman Mustafa Koç.​

Speaking at the Turkey-Kyrgyzstan Commerce and Investment Forum, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “The historical Silk Road presents important opportunities for Kyrgyzstan’s region. Kyrgyzstan’s placement on the route to China is an extraordinary opportunity.”​
