Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey

The Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) Representative Office in Türkiye and the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB) Directorate of Exchanges came together at TOBB Twin Towers on 17 July 2025. The meeting was attended by Özcan Türkoğlu, Senior Program Coordinator and Ali Ağören, Program Specialist from FAO Turkey, and Dr. İslime Pınar Nacak, Tahir Arguç and Özüm Rıza Karaca, Director of Exchanges, on behalf of TOBB Directorate of Exchanges.​

The First Meeting of the Women’s Empowerment Coordination Board was held in Ankara chaired by the of Minister of Family and Social Services Mahinur Özdemir Göktaş with the participation of Minister of Justice Yılmaz Tunç, Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır and Minister of National Education Yusuf Tekin.​

The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB) paid a return visit to the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) Türkiye Office to evaluate cooperation opportunities for geographical indications and local development.​

The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB) Electronics Council convened via video conference method under the chairmanship of Süleyman Alkan, Vice Chairman of the Council, and with the participation of Seyit Ardıç, Member of the Board of Directors of TOBB, in order to make a general evaluation of the sector.​

The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB) Paper and Paper Products Industry Council President Orhan Öğücü, Council Member Ersin Tezol, TOBB Sector Councils Manager Ayşe Çelebi Doğan and TOBB Sector Specialist İrem Ardıç visited Deputy Minister of Trade Ö. Volkan Ağar and Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change General Director of Environmental Impact Assessment, Permitting and Inspection Eyyüp Karahan in their offices.​

A coordination meeting was held in Konya, one of the pilot provinces within the scope of the Deposit Management System (DYS) to be implemented on a national scale, for public and private sector representatives on the field implementation, technical infrastructure and cooperation requirements of the DYS.​

The number of capacity reports approved by the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB) in June 2025 remained at about the same level compared to June 2024 with 4,092 reports.​

The 3rd Meeting of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB) Women Entrepreneurs Supreme Board Meeting was held online chaired by Nurten Öztürk, President of TOBB Women Entrepreneurs Council (KGK), with the participation of A. Saygın Baban, Head of TOBB Sectors and Entrepreneurship Department and members of the Supreme Council.​

The “National Occupational Health and Safety Council,” which was established to determine policies and strategies on occupational health and safety throughout the country, convened on July 4, 2025 under the chairmanship of Minister of Labor and Social Security Prof. Dr. Vedat Işıkhan. TOBB Board Member Seyit Ardıç and Deputy Secretary General Cengiz Delibaş attended the meeting on behalf of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye.​

Industry Information System (SBS) training was held for the Domestic Goods Certificate. The opening speeches of the meeting were made by Dr. İ.Pınar Nacak, Director of Commodity Exchanges of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB) and Efe Ayden, Industry Manager. In the speeches, the importance of the Domestic Goods Certificate and the Domestic Goods Certificate Communiqué, which will enter into force as of 2026, were mentioned in the training. While it was emphasized that the necessary preparations were made for the transition of the exchanges to the system, information was given about what the members should do during the application, the duties and functions of the exchanges.​
