Number of Industrial Capacity Reports approved in first 5 months nearing 17,000

The number of capacity reports approved by the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) in May 2020 decreased by 53.5% (2,287 units) compared to May 2019, resulting in 1,987 units. The number of capacity reports approved in the first 5 months of 2020 decreased by 11.3% (2,118 units) compared to the first 5 months of 2019.​

Of the 1,987 capacity report approved in May; 576 were in Istanbul, 136 in Izmir, 128 in Bursa, 83 in Ankara, 74 in Gaziantep, 73 in Kocaeli, 72 in Konya, 68 in Adana, 51 in Antalya and 49 in TekirdaÄŸ.

The total number of active capacity reports in the TOBB Industrial Database increased by 9.1% (6,747 units) to 81,124 in May 2019 from 74,377.

According to Active Capacity Reports, the total number of employees increased from 3,163,248 in May 2019 to 5% (157,182 units) in May 2020 to 3,320,430.

Capacity reports are compiled by local Chambers and approved by TOBB for: utilization of bench, device, machine and motive force in processing raw materials, semi-and complete products, property, content, composition or shape in full or in part; for businesses that produce a new product in serial or standard, and for those who operate and operate underground resources and produce software with information technology.

*Capacity reports whose validity periods will expire in March, April, May and June 2020 have been extended until July 1, 2020.
