Thirteen Non Governmental Organizations, TOBB among them, which represent all parts of organized society from all parts of Turkey visited the Prime Minister Erdoğan and discussed the matter of ‘terror’. Proclaiming the joint declaration, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, stating that they vehemently condemn terror said, “It is the day for acting in unity for a peaceful and strong Turkey.”

Hisarcıklıoğlu related that they, during their consultations on the subject and the assessment period, have decided to include the President of the Republic, Grand National Assembly President, Prime Minister and the heads of the political parties.
The declaration proclaimed by the TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu is as follows:

“We stand here as Turkey Workers’ Syndicates Confederation (TÜRK-İŞ), Turkey Employers’ Syndicates Confederation (TİSK), Turkey Artisans and Artists Confederation (TESK), Turkey Agricultural Chambers Union (TZOB), HAK- Workers’ Syndicates Confederation (HAK-İŞ), Civil Servants Syndicates Confederation (MEMUR-SEN), Turkey KAMUSEN, Turkey Bars Union (TBB), Turkey Union of Notaries (TNB), Turkey Independent Accounts’ Advisers’ and Certified Public Accountants’ Chambers Union (TÜRMOB), Turkish Veterinarians Union (TVHB), Turkey Travel Agencies Union (TÜRSAB) and The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey.

We stand together as the 13 establishments which represent organized society in every part of Turkey. This is a time when we as 74 million need each other the most.

We deeply feel the pain of losing our martyred soldiers and police officers and the citizens who lost their lives due to increasing incidences of terror. We vehemently condemn terror.

We pray for the grace of Allah upon our martyrs and present our condolences to their families and our nation and we hope for the speedy recovery of the wounded.

The recent attacks which have drowned our nation in sorrow have increased sensitivity in our society.

This sensitivity is the most crucial matter of the future of the 74 million. We view it as such.

We are consulting among ourselves as to what can be done with regards to this sensitivity.

In order to share the point we’ve reached as a result of our consulting, we have decided to include our President of the Republic, Grand National Assembly President, Prime Minister and the heads of political parties to the process.

We have just relayed this to our Prime Minister. Our consultations will continue. Once this process is finished, we will make an announcement in short order.

It is the day for acting in unity for a peaceful and strong Turkey.
We thank you all.”
