Inspections being replaced by counseling activities

TOBB Turkey Education Council convened at the TOBB Union Center in Ankara with the attendance of high level representatives of the public administration, private sector and NGOs. National Education Ministry representatives stated that, with the restructuring of the Ministry, inspections would be replaced by counseling activities.​

 

Reporting that commissions to this end would be formed, Ministry representatives emphasized that the sector representatives’ views and suggestions are being taken into account in regards to the supervision of private education institutions. Council members demanded that a tracking system for the supervision be implemented.

During the council meeting, in relation to the supervision, matters such as the resultant structure from the redesign of the investigation policy and the workings of the supervision mechanisms in the ministry and the institutions in the provinces.

- Sector report discussed

TOBB Turkey Education Council members exchanged views on the prepared sector report. It was emphasized that detailed information has been gained through the SWOT analysis regarding the size, strength and weaknesses of the sector, regional support and incentives.

- Unanswered questions about e-content

Council members also assessed the matter of e-content in the Ministry of National Education. Voicing their reservations regarding the subject, sector representatives noted that the allocation of a definite budget would facilitate efforts. Stating that controlling information in a digital form is very difficult, it was expressed that there are reservations regarding the security risk of these e-contents.

The problems which the publishers may encounter when and if education in schools switches over to tablet PC’s and digital education were also discussed.

It was decided that the Education Congress held yearly by TOBB be held with the theme of “Foreign Language Education” and preparation to this end started.
