As part of the UMEM Ability’10 project, ran with the cooperation of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey, Labor and Social Security Ministry, Turkey Employment Institution General Directorate, National Education Ministry and the TOBB University of Economy and Technology, the trainees who found employment after successfully completing their courses in chamber member establishments received their certificates with ceremony.​

 

Stating that the “Specialized Vocational Training Centers (UMEM) Ability’10 Project” started in 2010 by the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey will last 5 years, Antalya Chamber of Commerce and Industry Board President Çetin Osman Budak said, “As part of the UMEM Ability’10 Project, our unemployed and untrained youth will receive their theoretical training with the latest technological equipment according to the needs of the establishments and their on-site training at establishments operating in the industrialsector.

- Insurance premium incentives

Successful trainees are being employed at Chamber member companies. A daily stipend of 15 TL is paid out throughout the duration of the course and their general health insurance is maintained by İŞKUR. Companies which employ successful trainees are provided with insurance premium incentives for 12 to 54 months granted they fulfill the criteria of the Omnibus Bill #6111.”

Budak said that those wishing to enroll in the project to apply at www.beceri10.org.tr . Also, companies can register intern requests at the same address with their commerce and chamber registration numbers.

Antalya Provincial National Education Director Osman Nuri Gülay emphasized the importance of vocational training in his speech. Stating that before people used to look for jobs, “Now we look for unemployed.”

During the ceremony, plaques were awarded to companies which contributed to employment. Trainees who finished their theoretical and practical training were awarded their certificates.
