9. Sarajevo Business Forum held

The Sarajevo Business Forum, organized for the ninth time this year and supported by the TOBB as a Gold Sponsor, was held in Sarajevo with the participation of more than 1,600 politicians and private sector representatives from 53 countries in the Bosnian Bank International and Islamic Development Bank organization under the auspices of the Bosnian Herzegovina Presidency.​

Attending the opening session, representing Turkey Deputy Prime Minister Mehmet Şimşek addressed representatives of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, Croatia, Slovenia, Gulf countries and European Union.

In the “Southeast European International Gateway Roads” panel, Şekib Avdagiç, President of Istanbul Chamber of Commerce, representing TOBB and the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce, addressed the participants. Croatia Former President Stjepan Mesic, Lithuania Former President Valdis Zatlers and the panel, where the senior participants representing the region. Avdagiç gave assessments regarding the Customs Union implemented by the European Union with Turkey and stressed the huge contribution Turkey presents in the context of the region's development.

Taking part in, “Diaspora: Sports, Arts, Culture and Creative Industries - Transforming Feelings into Investments” session on the second day of the forum as speaker Avdagiç noted Bosnians in Turkey are accepted as citizens, not as a diaspora, different from any other country and expressed his satisfaction in this.
