TOBB has been elected to the Board of International Road Transport Union

The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) has achieved yet another first within international representation. TOBB TIR and ATA Report Manager Aslı Gözütok, has been elected as board member to the Board of International Road transport Union (IRU) based in Geneva.​

Stand for as candidate during the elections held in Geneva capital of Switzerland Aslı Gözütok has become the first Turkish elective representative entering the IRU Board as member consisting of 9 persons.

Gözütok who was well away during the elections from candidates from 6 countries who were candidates in their own councils such as France, Denmark, Lithuania, shall be carrying out duty for 2 years.

-What is IRU?

IRU stands out as the sole organisation authorised to represent passenger and goods road transportation which works for sustainable mobility of people and goods.

Generating solutions for increasing and improvement of trade, economic growth, workforce, safety of environment and society, IRU has worldwide members from more than 100 countries.

Basically representing international transportation associations and organisations based in more than 100 countries together with their member transporter, IRU carries on cooperation and works with business world, governments, United Nations and entire international organisations.   

Annually, IRU entirely provides insurance and indemnity for more than 1 million of worldwide transportations carried out within TIR Report.

By this mean without exposing goods and passengers to additional costs their transportation is being provided through simple and swift methods.

As to TOBB is one the strategical and significant partners of IRU. Committing as guarantor within TIR Report System TOBB develops convenient sustainable projects together with IRU such as electronic TIR system, electronic bill of lading (CMR), TIR warranty for container transportation.
