15.11.2018 / Ankara

TOBB Board Member Salih Zeki Murzioğlu attended Communication Points Training Programme in Ankara organised by Ministry of Economy for informing personnel who work in chambers associated with TOBB regarding supports and applications provided by the Ministry.

Speaking at the opening of the programme Murzioğlu, stating that they, as Turkey focused to a common goal said “We shall transform Turkey to a country with 500 billion dollars exporting volume. For the prosperity of our country and our nation we must achieve that. Have look at our success story within last 35 years. We have increased our export volume from 3 billion dollars to 150 billion dollars. In another word we have multiplied it by 50.  Would be possible for a nation who achieved such thing to triple its exportation volume? Allah willing we can also do that.”

Underlining that they do not have time to waste for another 35 years Murzioğlu said “Therefore now we must work more efficiently and effectively. We must walk toward the common goal hand in hand as Public and Private Sector. Here today that’s what we are doing. During the joint council meeting that we held in July, we requested a movement just like this one from our Esteemed Prime Minister. He there and then gave the instruction. In 3 months this programme had been put together.”

Salih Zeki Murzioğlu reminded that as TOBB community they conducted significant works for the last 15 years for presenting new brand cities and transforming more companies to export companies.

Stating that they increased the capacities of the Chambers-Commodity Exchanges Murzioğlu also said 50 Chambers-Commodity Exchanges had been accredited and achieved the ability of providing 5-star service with the standard as good as European Chambers.

Reminding that last year they started a new movement with the target named as Geçen yıl ‘Global KOBİs Exceeding the Borders” Murzioğlu noted as follows: “In order to bring our non-exporting KOBIs engaging in exportation we took 3 steps. First of those works that we carried out was “Foreign Trade Briefing Seminars” which conducted in coordination with Ministry of Economy. We have covered four corners of country together with precious experts from the Ministry. In total we have conducted 115 seminars within our chambers. Secondly we started Information in Foreign Trade Project. Information which is the major commercial power in our day we targeted to provide our firms with accurate information about foreign target markets and customers. In order to encourage our KOBİs as well as to eliminate lack of information causing them difficulty for entering foreign markets we assigned our Chambers and Commodity Exchanges with big responsibilities.

Thirdly we developed Digital Platform which would enable our firms to improve international commercial cooperation. Thanks to this project which we will be putting into practice in the upcoming days, we will enable our firms becoming proactive within international trade.”

Underlining the fact that global competition being at its highest level Murzioğlu also said that the only way to being head in competition is to engage in new businesses, activities continuously.

Stating that Ministry of Economy had been granting beyond belief incentives and supports for exporting, Murzioğlu also said “They are presenting immense opportunities in every area you can think of. We know all about this this but most of the firms either do not know completely or they do not know how to apply, which procedure to follow. On the other hand our Chambers represent private sector in their cities. They are in direct contact with each firm in Turkey. If there is an economic distress generated our Chambers notice the initial signals emerging from base. They know the needs and demands of the firms. They have the capacity well enough to provide firms with door to door service. Today here we are gather up Ministry of Economy with TOBB community that is our Chambers. We are getting as close as two coats of paint. Representatives of our Chambers from 81 provinces and accredited districts who are present here today shall be informed about the activities and incentives of Ministry of Economy. Then they shall be working within their activity areas as a representative of the Ministry and they shall provide firms accordingly. So what we are saying is they shall be frontiersmen of Ministry of Economy.”

Murzioğlu said that thanks to the Foreign Trade and Communication Points Training each Chamber in their own cities shall become a service point where incentives by Ministry of Economy shall be directly taken to the firms, therefore they shall be presenting the Ministerial incentives in quicker and direct manner to the business world and also service capacities of the Chambers would increase by this way Turkey would win.
