Germany’s Ambassador to Turkey, Ambassador Pohl was hosted by Hisarcıklıoğlu

Assigned to Turkey as Germany’s Ambassador, Dr. Eberhart Pohl visited TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu. The meeting, during which the commercial and economic relations of the two countries were discussed, Hisarcıklıoğlu emphasized that Germany is a very important partner for Turkey while Ambassador Pohl stated that during his office he would put equal importance on political and economic issues.
TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu stated his gratification that ambassadors place importance on economic issues in addition to political ones. Touching on Turkey-Germany economic relations, Hisarcıklıoğlu said that the Turkish-German Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Köln and the German-Turkish Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Istanbul which were established via an agreement between TOBB and the Union of German Chambers of Commerce (DIHK) were the best connections between the two countries.
TOBB President stated that they were in close cooperation with the Embassy and the DIHK and that the Turkish-German Cooperation Council was an important platform.
Emphasizing that the two countries could cooperate in third countries, Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that Germany’s support in Turkey’s EU process was very important.
Ambassador Pohl said that he viewed the EU process optimistically. During the meeting Dr. Eberhart Pohl was given a presentation on TOBB’s works and projects.
