EU project “Undiscovered Gems of the Land of Black Diamonds in Business Life” introduced

“Undiscovered Gems of the Land of Black Diamonds in Business Life” EU project introductory meeting prepared by Zonguldak Chamber of Commerce and Industry was held in Zonguldak and the TOBB Women Entrepreneurs Council Black Sea Region Meeting were held in Zonguldak with the participation of TOBB Women Entrepreneurs Council Chair Evrim Aras.​

Zonguldak Chamber of Commerce and Industry launched and promoted as a part of the “Grant Program for the Promotion of the Employment of Disadvantaged Persons through Social Integration,” the EU project “Undiscovered Gems of the Land of Black Diamonds in Business Life,” was launched and introduced.

The meeting was attended by Zonguldak Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chairman Metin Demir, members of its Board of Directors, TOBB Women Entrepreneurs Council Black Sea Regional Representative Leyla Karabulut and the region’s TOBB Women Entrepreneurs Council Chairs and members.

TOBB Zonguldak Women Entrepreneurs Council Chair Nurcan Abay welcomed those attending the event and stated that they are very pleased with the “Undiscovered Gems of the Land of Black Diamonds in Business Life,” project aiming to contribute to the integration of disadvantaged women between the ages of 18-28 to social life.

Abay, condemning acts of terror taking place throughout Turkey, said, “They will not be able to divide Turkey. If necessary we will join the military as women, we will fight on the frontlines, but we will not allow our country to be divided.”

In her address, TOBB Women Entrepreneurs Council Chair Evrim Aras said, “One of the important parameters for the level of development of countries today is the value given to women's rights and gender equality, the steps taken in this direction. The fact that women have equal social, economic and political rights to men will not only result in the improvement of social life, but will undoubtedly strengthen world peace.”

The project aims to increase the employability of 100 unemployed, high school graduates under the poverty risk, between the ages of 18 and 28 living in Zonguldak and to provide them with access to the labor market through guidance and counseling support for entry into the labor market.
