Education Council discusses priority problems of the industry

The TOBB Turkish Education Council held its first meeting in 2016-17 with the participation of high-level representatives of the private sector and non-governmental organizations at the TOBB Twin Towers presided by the Council Chair Yusuf Ekinci.​

Council Chair Ekinci, proposed the priority problems and solutions of the sector to the views of parliament members which will be presented in 9th Turkey Sectoral Economy Summit.

Council Chair Yusuf Ekinci stated that the first problem is the providing support to all students in private schools, the second issue in regards to the need for the government to stop operating in the field of publishing schoolbooks. Members of the Council also conveyed their views and suggestions in the context of theirs field of activity. Parliamentary Vice-Presidents Faruk Köprülü and Yusuf Tavukcuoglu described the developments and effects experienced in the sector since 15 July 2016. Vice President Köprülü emphasized the importance of the fact that the problems of the industry are common and that they act together in solving the problems.

Council Vice Chair Yusuf Tavukcuoglu, thanked the Ministry of Education's General Directorate of Private Education Institutions and shared his information regarding stamp taxes for contracts signed between parents and schools in private schools being removed.
