The Turkish Capital Markets Council discusses priority problems

The first meeting of the new term for the Turkish Capital Markets Council was presided over by Council Chair Himmet Karadağ with participation of high level representatives of the public, private sector and non-governmental organizations at the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce.​

Council Members discussed priority issues and solution proposals that will be presented at the Turkish Sectoral Economy Council, which is planned to be held for the 9th time this year.

Domestic investor demand and individual investor in the capital market as well as the need for more domestic institutional investors, the need for diversification of products for the deepening of the capital market, taxation of capital market tools and arbitration, diversity of products of the Ä°stanbul Financial Center (Ä°FM) Project were declared as priority issues of the sector by council members.

Council Speaker KaradaÄŸ also shared information regarding the developments in Exchange Istanbul as well as the newly established Turkey Wealth Fund Co. Inc. with the representatives of the sector.

Listening to the current problems experienced by the sector representatives, Council Speaker KaradaÄŸ expressed that they will work to bring solutions to their problems as soon as possible and that the important thing is to solve the problem in the long term rather than in the short term.
