Halim Mete on Hisarcıklıoğlu-Kılıçdaroğlu meeting

The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey Board Vice Chair Halim Mete, stating that TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu has not contacted CHP Chairman Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu in regards to the 72nd TOBB General Assembly, directly or via proxy, and said, “CHP Former Ankara Parliamentary Representative Sinan Aygün called Hisarcıklıoğlu while he was meeting with Kılıçdaroğlu, handing the phone over to Kılıçdaroğlu while speaking with Hisarcıklıoğlu.”​

Mete, in a written press release, provided information pertinent to the Hisarcıklıoğlu-Kılıçdaroğlu phone conversation and claims.

Stating that, “It has become necessary to issue a rebuttal with regards to the statement made by CHP Vice-Chair Tekin Bingöl,” Halim Mete said:

“TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu, contrary to statement made by Mr. Tekin Bingöl, has not contacted CHP Chair Mr. Kemal Kılıçdaroğlu, nor has he sent anyone as proxy. CHP Former Ankara Parliamentary Representative Sinan Aygün called Hisarcıklıoğlu while he was meeting with Kılıçdaroğlu, handing the phone over to Kılıçdaroğlu while speaking with Hisarcıklıoğlu. At this point the TOBB President expressed his grievance in regards to the events of the General Assembly. Thus, Bingöl’s statement is not representative of reality.”
