Şefik Tokat passed away…

Former TOBB Secretary General and Prime Ministry Head Consultancy Chief Şefik Tokat passed away. TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu spoke, “We are deeply grieved by the loss of our dear friend Şefik Tokat, who has been of great service to our community. I pray for the grace of Allah upon him; my condolences to his relatives and to our community.”
Şefik Tokat suffered from kidney problems for a long time. His funeral will take place on Sunday at the Kocatepe Mosque, after which he will be interred at the Karşıyaka Cemetery.
Born in Van in 1941, Şefik Tokat attended the Ankara Academy of Economics and Administrative Sciences, Financial Expertise Department. Afterwards he took various offices in Rural Affairs Ministry Van Road Water and Electricity Directorate, 9th Army Logistics Main Storage Command, Statistics General Directorate and Labor Ministry Labor General Directorate.
In order, Şefik Tokat acted as; Ministry of Industry Inspector Aide, Inspector, Turkey Iron and Steel Works Vice-Director, Industry and Commerce Ministry Undersecretary, Turkey Chemical Industry Council General Director, Industry and Commerce Ministry Deputy Counselor and TAKSAN Inc. General Director.
Acting as TOBB Secretary General between1992-2002, Şefik Tokat took office as the TOBB Prime Ministry Counselor between 2002-2006.
