Visas being lifted for Senegal

TOBB Board Vice President Halim Mete attended the Senegal Economy Forum held at the Marmara by the Senegal Ankara Embassy which was also attended by Senegalese President Macky Sall and the delegation accompanying him on his state visit to Turkey as part of the centenary of the Battle of Çanakkale.​

Speaking with the members of the press, President Sall reported that work has been underway to lift visas to Senegal and will enter into effect as of the 1st of May, 2015; entrance to the country will be possible with an online application and fingerprinting at the airport in Senegal.


- Mete urged for improved trade


Speaking at the opening of the Forum, Halim Mete stated that the martyrs who gave their lives in the Battle of Çanakkale are remembered with respect and gratitude.


Stating that the development of bilateral trade with Senegal in the last 12 years has been gratifying, Mete stated that they are sure the performance will only increase in the coming term. Emphasizing that the 170 million USD bilateral trade volume is way below its full potential, Mete emphasized the many opportunities for cooperation between the two countries.
