Experiences on investment environment reforms shared with 32 Islamic countries

The last meeting of the Investment Environment Reform Turkey Experience Sharing Program, held by the Islamic Development Bank and the Ministry of Economy with the support of the Investment Support and Promotion Agency and TEPAV, was held at TOBB with the participation of the representatives of 32 Islamic Development Bank member countries.​

On the last day of the program, which had started with the opening speech of the Minister of Economy Zafer Çağlayan on the October 10th, 2011, participants met at the TOBB Social Facilities Şefik Tokat Hall to learn about the Investment Environment Reform Program’s notable points.

TOBB Secretary General Adviser Naci Akın gave the opening speech and briefly introduced TOBB, followed by a video presentation regarding Turkey’s economy prepared by DEİK. Afterwards the YOİKK Company Procedures Technical Committee Economy Ministry Coordinator, Economy Ministry Expert Özge Dumlupınar made a presentation touching on the reforms and applications enacted at YOİKK. During the Q&A, TOBB, Economy Ministry, Ankara Chamber of Commerce Trade Registry experts answered questions regarding TOBB and Company Establishment procedures.

The Islamic Development Bank Representative Muhammed Bukhari conducted a presentation regarding Investment Environment Reform work and programs aimed at the Islamic Development Bank member countries. The participants expressed that they have identified that the cooperation of public administration and the private sector was important and that they would work to ensure it in their own countries with the support of TOBB.

Attending the meeting in addition to the Economy Ministry Department Head Serdar Akıncı were representatives from Afghanistan, Algeria, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Burkina Faso, Comoros, Djibouti, Egypt, Gambia, Guinea-Bissau, Indonesia, Iran, Jordan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Maldives, Malaysia, Morocco, Sudan, Syria, Mozambique, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leona, Tajikistan, Uganda, Uzbekistan and Yemen.
