407 fairs held in 213 visited by 15.5 million

The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) has announced its 2013 fairs statistics. According to announcement, a total of 407 fairs were visited by 15,500,048 people. The number of foreign visitors was at 527,748. At the fairs, 60,520 companies had booths.​

Most visitors were drawn in by fairs in the fields of agriculture, greenhouse cultivation, animal husbandry and technologies followed by 2.1 visitor to fairs focusing on books and publications, and thirdly, 1.934 million visitors took part in general purpose fairs.

 

Most fairs were held on agriculture, greenhouse cultivation, animal husbandry with 49 fairs, 35 fairs were held on heating, cooling, air conditioning, natural gas and systems, construction materials and similar fields. 34 fairs were held on education, educational equipment and technologies.

 

- 206 fairs held in Ä°stanbul

 

Most fairs were held in Ä°stanbul, a total of 206, while the second highest number was seen in Ä°zmir with 27 and third place with 24 was Ankara. The calendar distribution of the fairs saw March as the busiest month; 68 fairs in March, 54 fairs in November.
