TOBB ETU Rector Prof. Dr. Yücel Altunbaşak has been appointed to the Turkey Scientific and Technological Research Institute’s (TÜBİTAK) Presidency. - Prof. Dr. Altunbaşak’s resume

Born in 1971 in Kayseri, Altunbaşak graduated from Bilkent University Architecture Faculty’s Electrical-Electronic Program in 1992. Completing his graduate and doctorate education at the USA Rochester University, Altunbaşak acted as part-time instructor at the San Jose State University, assistant professor at the Stanford University, technical group member at the Hewlett-Packard Laboratories, assistant professor at the Georgia Technical Institute Electronics and Computer Engineering Branch. Attaining associate professor and professor degrees at the Georgia Technical Institute, Altunbaşak was appointed as the TOBB ETU Rector in 2009.

Altunbaşak, during his academic career, also provided consultation to Vestel between 2003 and 2007, held a staff position during summers at the Sabancı University Faculty of Engineering and Natural Sciences Network Education. Altunbaşak also took active part in finding markets for the products produced in the universities in the USA via the company he founded.
