The chambers and commodity exchanges that passed the accreditation system audit received their certificates from TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu at a ceremony at the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Türkiye (TOBB) Conference Hall.

Attending the ceremony hosted by Hisarcıklıoğlu were Deputy Minister of Trade Sezai Uçarmak and the presidents and senior employees of chambers and commodity exchanges.

TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu said in his speech that the certificate in question is a document of the service provided by chambers and exchanges. Stating that 150 chambers and commodity exchanges that have successfully completed the accreditation audit process will receive accreditation certificates, Hisarcıklıoğlu asked the chamber and commodity exchange representatives to hang these documents.

Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that the world is going through a change and transformation, and as TOBB and the chamber-commodity exchange community, they have to be the pioneers of this change and transformation.

Noting that as the president of the Turkish business world, he has been the president of chambers or a board member in Europe, Asia Pacific, Islamic countries and Turkic Republics, Hisarcıklıoğlu said that the Turkish business world has overcome the pandemic with the least impact compared to the world.

M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu said that chambers and commodity exchanges have improved themselves thanks to the accreditation system. Stating that accredited chambers and commodity exchanges carry out projects with the chambers of more than 30 countries, Hisarcıklıoğlu said that chambers and exchanges have become centers that produce and offer services to entrepreneurs in the best way.

Hisarcıklıoğlu, emphasizing that the chambers and commodity exchanges have reached the level of chamber-commodity exchange in London, Paris and Berlin in terms of service quality, stated that they are in a position to export the system to the whole world.

- “We have set the new accreditation standard”

Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that 278 of the 365 chambers and exchanges are currently accredited and 35 of them are in the process, and that they aim to have all chambers and exchanges accredited.

Hisarcıklıoğlu informed that they have set a new accreditation standard in accordance with the new targets in line with the demands and opinions and said:

“Issues such as trade, e-commerce and foreign trade, industry-production, supply chain and R&D activities, social responsibility, promotion of local values such as tourism and geographical indication, employment and vocational training have now become a part of the standard in the new period. In the accreditation system, the full score was 65, now we are increasing the full score to 100. In the past, you were classified as A, B, C based on your scores. You will now be classified with 5, 6 and 7 stars based on your scores. In other words, those who are accredited in class A will become 7-star chamber-commodity exchanges from now on. We distinguish the accreditation systems of chambers and exchanges. Commodity exchanges will now be audited on the basis of essential commodity exchange services at their own specific standard.”

Hisarcıklıoğlu said that they aim to provide better quality corporate service with these changes.

Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that they gave a new and higher target to the chambers and exchanges by complicating the criteria, and emphasized that they aimed to raise the chambers and exchanges to the next league in the 20th year of the accreditation system.

- Deputy Minister Uçarmak

In his speech, Deputy Minister of Trade Sezai Uçarmak expressed his pleasure to be at the accreditation ceremony, which showed that the quality of service was tied to a certain standard.

Stating that chambers and commodity exchanges are closely related to customs and the ministry, Uçarmak said that the accreditation given in chambers and exchanges will facilitate commercial life by bringing the service quality to a certain point and will bring discipline to chambers and exchanges.
