The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu attended the joint evaluation meeting of Sakarya provinces and districts hosted by Sakarya Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Akgün Altuğ.

Hisarcıklıoğlu, who listened to the opinions and solution suggestions of Sakarya Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Akgün Altuğ, Sakarya Commodity Exchange President Adem Sarı, Akyazı CCI President Şinasi Bayraktar, Akyazı Commodity Exchange President Şener Bayraktar and council members, emphasized that Sakarya has a great potential, exporting 5 billion dollars to 152 countries.

TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu, stating that Sakarya produces in almost all sectors and markets its goods globally, said, “While you were in the 8th place last year in exports, you have risen to the 7th place in the first quarter this year. Sakarya alone meets a quarter of Turkey's vehicle production and exports

Three-quarters of the vehicles produced here are sold abroad. In other words, the whole world knows the labor, diligence and quality of Sakarya. I am also proud of you, the architects of this success, and wish you continued success.”

TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that they analyzed 90,000 producers and 4,000 products in the TOBB Industry database with the Leaders of Industry study, placing Sakarya in the 1st position in Turkey with its production capacity in 73 products.

Hisarcıklıoğlu said: “Sakarya has the highest production capacity in Turkey in 73 products from food to transportation vehicles such as caravans, railway freight wagons, tractors, rotary converters, biofuels, roasted shelled hazelnuts. I wholeheartedly congratulate all our industrialists who invest and produce in Sakarya. There is something else which makes me proud. My Sakarya and Akyazı Chambers and Commodity Exchanges, are united, they have joined hands for Sakarya. It is this unity and solidarity that makes Sakarya a brand city. I work together with the Presidents of 4 Chambers-Commodity Exchanges in Sakarya and also in Ankara. President Akgün Altuğ is in the General Administrative Board of TOBB and also in the management of GTI, which we established with the partnership of 137 Chambers-Commodity Exchanges, one of the largest logistics companies in Turkey.

President Adem Sarı is the Vice President of the Council of Commodity Exchanges. We determine agricultural policies together. President Şinasi Bayraktar is on the Social Policies Board. President Şener Bayraktar is a Member of the Legislation Commission. We consult with them on all regulations related to business life and trade and determine our policy. In other words, our 4 Presidents serve both Sakarya and Akyazı and work for our country in Ankara. Allah bless all of them. I would also like to thank my Presidents, administrations and councils for this understanding of service.”

- We share problems and suggestions

Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that as TOBB, they shared their problems and solution proposals with all Ministers related to the economy, especially the President of the Republic, and said, “In this way, we have ensured that concrete steps are taken on various issues. Working with our presidents, we have ensured that a lot of support has come out for you. Tax deferrals and deductions were introduced. VAT rates have been reduced on many goods and services. As a result of our initiatives, most of the receivables accumulated in the public sector of various sectors, especially medical, were paid. Support payments were made to our small businesses that suffered a loss of turnover. The conditions for benefiting from the Short Work Allowance were improved and its scope expanded.

The guarantee capacity of the Credit Guarantee Fund was increased to 500 billion TL. Although not exactly the way we wanted, the price difference and liquidation for public contractors were removed. On the other hand, with an import of 2.5 trillion dollars, we opened the TOBB Trade Center in Chicago to facilitate your entry into the US market, which is the largest market in the world, and to increase our exports. With this center, we serve you in the fields of sales, marketing, storage and distribution, making it easier for you to hold on to the market. Of course, there is more work to be done. As TOBB, we are following up with these as well.”
