Vice President Fuat Oktay said in his speech at the dinner that they are happy to meet and embrace as the brother peoples of a shared geography, history and culture.

Expressing his happiness in hosting distinguished guests from Uzbekistan, the ancestral homeland, in Ankara, Oktay stated that a visit to Turkey of such a broad delegation from Uzbekistan on the occasion of the Joint Economic Commission meeting is a clear indication of intent to continue close cooperation.

Oktay expressed his sincere belief that the visit would make significant contributions to the development of ties between friendly and brotherly countries and conveyed greetings of President Recep Tayyip ErdoÄŸan to the participants.

After his speech, Fuat Oktay, along with Deputy Prime Minister of Uzbekistan Elyor Ganiyeva, presented awards to honor those who contributed to development of Uzbekistan-Turkey cooperation.
