At the General Assembly, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu thanked all those who contributed to the successful efforts of GTİ.

Pointing out that half of Turkey's foreign trade is made through land customs gates, but due to lack of investment for years, many problems have arisen because of bad conditions, causing additional costs, Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that they took the first step in 2005 to solve these problems suffered by their members.

Stating that GTI Co. Inc. is the most successful example of public-private sector partnership, TOBB President reported that it has become a best-in-practice project globally, praised as such by the United Nations, to ‘make customs gates safe and fast like Turkey, the way TOBB does it.’

GTİ Co. İnc. Board President Arif Parmaksız also provided information about the company's activities in 2018.
