Hisarcıklıoğlu attended the Ministry of Trade Advisory Committee meeting

TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu attended the first meeting of the Ministry of Trade Advisory Council, which was held under the chairmanship of Trade Minister Ruhsar Pekcan with the aim of removing obstacles in front of the trade and opening up the private sector.​

Hisarcıklıoğlu stated after the meeting that public and private sectors will develop solutions and projects together.

At the meeting, the opinions and recommendations of the non-governmental organizations were evaluated when determining the structure and functioning of the establishment.

After about two hours of meetings, the “Ministry of Trade Advisory Committee Declaration” was published.

The Ministry of Commerce Declaration of the Advisory Council indicated that the rules have been redefined in global trade and that all countries have been working at a critical time to attain more important positions in the world economy.

In this new era, the declaration emphasizes that the private sector and the state should work much more closely, to remove obstacles for manufacturers, industrialists, entrepreneurs and exporters, and to use all the blessings of trade diplomacy effectively:

“We are combining our strengths in order to eliminate the latest threats to our country and our economy effectively and we are expanding our business alliance to raise our country to the level of modern civilizations, especially with our 2023 targets. We have never doubted that we would be able to overcome any difficulty through unity and solidarity. Today, we are creating a brand new consultative body that combines the experience of our business world and our bureaucracy in a single pot, covering all the elements of our economy from the employer to the employee; from the tradesman to the architect, for the prosperous future of our country. By signing this declaration, we promise to overcome all the obstacles that we face on our way to the bright future of our country, we will not stop, we will not tire, and we will never give up.”

The Advisory Board's main objective is to bring together all stakeholders of the country's economy development and to contribute to growth as well as putting a stop to the perception operation abroad being executed against Turkey, to support achieving the commercial objectives of the government and the creation of positive perceptions about Turkey abroad.

The declaration aims to bring together all business stakeholders of Turkey in this new structure, will be a national stance, a concrete indication to reach ideals through perseverance, “May this new structure which we hope will provide significant benefits to the economy, be auspicious.”

Within the Consultative Committee, which will convene every month under the coordination of the Ministry of Commerce, specialized workshops will be established with the participation of specialists from the public, private sector and academia, according to the topics to be discussed. The boards will present their work to the Advisory Board.

Attending the meeting were Turkey Exporters Assembly (TIM) Chairman İsmail Gülle, Turkey Tradesmen and Artisans Confederation (TESK) Chairman Bendevi Palandöken, the Turkish Industrialists and Business People's Association (TUSIAD) Chairman Erol Bilecik, Independent Industrialists' and Businessmen's Association (MUSIAD) Chairman Abdurrahman Kaan, Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEIK) President Nail Olpak, Turkey Contractors Association (TMB) President Mithat Yenigün.
