Signatures set down for the Malatya CE's Dried Apricot Licensed Warehouse

TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that a very important step was taken in terms of storage of apricots in healthy conditions in the speech he made at the Malatya Commodity Exchange Dried Apricot Licensed Warehouse Signature and Award Ceremony.​

Malatya Commodity Exchange Market Dried Apricot Licensed Warehousing Signature and Award Ceremony, hosted by Malatya Commodity Exchange President Ramazan Özcan and attended by Customs and Commerce Minister Bülent Tüfenkci, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, TESK President Bendevi Palandöken, Malatya Chamber of Commerce and Industry Chair Oğuzhan Ata Sadıkoğlu was held with the participation the chairpersons of the chambers and exchanges of the province and districts.

Speaking at the opening of the signing ceremony, TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that a very important work was signed with licensed warehousing and said that it would be possible to work under healthier conditions. Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that Turkey's most intelligent people come from Malatya showed mişmiş as its source. Pointing out that Malatya has an important place among those who governed Turkey for the last 50 years Hisarcıklıoğlu gave İsmet İnönü, Turgut Özal, TESK President with Bendevi Palandöken and Customs and Commerce Minister Bülent Tüfenkçi as examples originating from Malatya. Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that Minister Tüfenkci has contributed greatly to licensed warehouses becoming a reality and thanked TMO, Lidaş and all of their employees for their contributions.

Customs and Trade Minister Bülent Tüfenkci said in his speech, “Started with 20,000 tons in 2011, licensed warehousing system has reached a capacity of 1,838,200 tons.”

Tüfenkci noted the importance of licensed warehouses and said, “We gave permission for 123 companies to build licensed warehouses as the Ministry of Customs and Commerce to date. Started with 20,000 tons in 2011, licensed warehousing system has reached a capacity of 1,838,200 tons. We started with licensed storage of wheat now there is a wide variety of goods kept in licensed warehouses including olives, cotton, pistachio nuts, apricot. Licensed warehouses in agricultural trade are very important, so we continue to work with the Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock to increase our licensed warehouse capacity.”

- “Product Specialized Exchanges are coming”

Tüfenkçi reported that Malatya boasts not only apricot licensed storage capacity but cereals as well, “Today we will sign a licensed warehouse protocol regarding apricots, and hopefully we will lay its foundations in a short time, too. Next week we will have completed the establishment of Turkey Product Specialized Exchange. This way, you will be able to electronically trade goods on the Product Specialized Exchange.”

Following the ceremony, Malatya’s top exporting companies were presented with success and appreciation awards.
