23.03.2018 / Adıyaman

TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu opened the grain analysis laboratory at Adıyaman Commodity Exchange.

As a part of his Adıyaman itinerary, TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu visited Adıyaman Commodity Exchange, receiving information about the works from Mahmut Fırat, Chairman of Adıyaman Commodity Exchange.

Speaking at the visit, TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu emphasized that important and beneficial works for farmers are underway and said, “We have taken the decisions that pave the way for both the farmer and the merchant together with our government. One of them is licensed warehouse. This has been ratified since 2004 but never fully actualized in real life. Thankfully our Minister Bülent Tüfenkci heard of this and with the support given by our ministers responsible for economy, licensed warehousing has begun operations. From this day on, farmers can put their products in a licensed warehouse and pay no fee. The government pays for fuel that the farmer consumes from the field to the warehouse. In the licensed warehouse, with a hygienic environment, the product is sold without waste, without spoiling. At the same time, the product is officially certified according to its characteristics in the laboratory. Nobody will fool anyone, whatever the characteristics of the specimen wheat will be completely certain. When it is stored, certification will be given to the farmer. In the past, the farmer's wheat was harvested and there was no place to store it, the farmer thus took it to a flour factory and sold for however much money was given. Now, the farmer sells the product when money is needed; because the warehouse is free. The farmer will be able to withdraw the loan from the bank with the certificate given to him from the warehouse. He will be able to shop; he will be able to go to a higher level.”

Talking about product specialized exchanges, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “Agriculture and livestock products reach global markets. It will be available now to sell and buy wheat, lentils, corn, cotton from a table as if buying stcoks from anywhere in the world. The price is the same in everywhere. There will be no instances of, let’s say, different prices of cotton in Adıyaman and in Istanbul; the price will be the same everywhere. At the same time, anyone can buy make purchases from outside Turkey as well.”

Following the speeches, the opening ceremony of the Grain Analysis Laboratory in the Adıyaman Commodity Exchange was conducted by Hisarcıklıoğlu and the accompanying figures.

After the opening ceremony, Mahmut Fırat, Adıyaman Commodity Exchange Chairman, presented TOBB President Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu with a gift.
