20-year dream of insurance sector realized

21.03.2018 / Kocaeli

TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, participating in the TOBB Insurance Agencies Sector Council Delegate Meeting held in Kocaeli, stated that the industry has experienced many important developments during the past year and said, “First of all, we realized our 20-year of dream. We were able to include insurance agents in SMEs. We were also included in the KOSGEB support list. All of this will certainly contribute to the development of our industry.”

Indicating that another issue pointed out in the sector for many years is to award the taxpayers who regularly pay the tax, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “We have also ensured this and have opened the way for our industry to benefit from a tax deduction of 5%. Troubles in traffic insurance were resolved to a certain extent. One of the demands of our industry was expertise. We have also added the insurance sector to the areas of expertise in legal cases. We also removed the condition for consent letter demanded from the agencies. The base commission rate for the agency was also determined. All these steps that relieve our sector are the result of us acting in unison.”

- Thanking the Executive Committee and Sector Council

TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “You work, putting aside your family and giving of yourself. But you have ensured that the steps relieving all the agencies and our industry have passed. Of course, in all of these, our Executive Committee and our sector council has a big share,” thanking the Executive Committee and the Sector Council.

Stating that their duty has not finished yet as the sector, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “Our duty not finished yet. Insurance is also very important for the economy. Therefore, it is beneficial for everyone that our sector survives and grows. Recently, on the agenda are fake policies and unlicensed agents. There may be substantial damage. To avoid this, we must ensure that insurance agencies are where procedures are handled, and we must explain this situation. To this end, we are preparing an introductory project under the coordination of Vice President, Mr. Ender. On the other hand; industry, commerce and human life are changing deeply at a rapid pace today. While new professions are born, many existing professions are under threat of extinction. In this process, we need to have a stronger sector council, a strong executive committee, unity and solidarity more than ever. I believe wholeheartedly that by working together, we will provide the sector with new services and carry it further through cooperation.”
