Releasing a message regarding the April 23rd National Sovereignty and Children’s Day, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu said that lovingly raised children who believe in solidarity are the guarantee of sovereignty and brighter futures.
Pointing out that April 23rd, which symbolizes our national sovereignty, is the sole holiday gifted to children, Hisarcıklıoğlu stressed the importance of this day in regards to engender the feeling of solidarity between all children of the world.
Hisarcıklıoğlu said in his message:
We are overjoyed and proud to be celebrating the April 23rd National Sovereignty and Children’s Day gifted to children by the founder of our Republic, Ghazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.
The Great Atatürk gave a powerfully important message when he wanted to have the opening day of the Grand National Assembly be a day for the children. Our future, without a doubt, will be shaped by the hands of our children who are just now coming to know the world.
In this regard, national and international friendships established between children will form the foundation of a peaceful and bright world of tomorrow.
We all believe that the most modern form of government in the world is the one which is based on the sovereignty of the people. Our country will reach the level of advanced civilization with a system based on democracy and national will as shown to us by Atatürk. No form of government which does not take its power from the people can be considered a modern model in our civilized world.
On behalf of the Turkish business world, we remember Ghazi Mustafa Kemal and his comrades in arms who put their lives on the line for the opening of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey and the founding of our Republic once again with feelings of gratitude and celebrate the April 23rd National Sovereignty and Children’s Day from the bottom of my heart.”
