The union of Chambers and Commodity Exchange of Turkey (TOBB) Regional Meetings started with the Eastern and Southeastern Regional Meeting. TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that, having convened to consult, chambers and commodity exchanges should inform their members about the services they provide and that the business community should benefit from these opportunities.

While a comprehensive presentation on developments in the economy was given at the TOBB Twin Towers meeting, Hisarcıklıoğlu provided information regarding about what they wanted for the private sector in the recent period, what has been achieved and what changes have occurred.

Hisarcıklıoğlu, pointing out their promise to President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan regarding employment, underlined the fact that they’ve reached 1.2 in 6 months and set a goal of 1.5 million jobs in 1 year.

Pointing out that the growth figures are pleasing, the TOBB President stated that he believes that this high growth will continue until the end of the year. Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “We see the reflection of growth in employment.” M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu said that if the economic growth increases, the country will become richer and that this will solve the problem of unemployment.

TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu noted that the number of bounced checks has decreased by 28% compared to the previous year. “We were complaining about unrequited withdrawals last year. It has decreased. There is an increase in bonds. I hope that there will be a suitable resolution for this, too.” Hisarcıklıoğlu pointed out that revitalization in the automotive, home appliances and furniture sectors can be observed and stated that an increase in investments is necessary.

The results of the survey conducted among council members were also evaluated.
