Mobile technology education begins for women who will write the future

The “Women Writing the Future Project” training sessions, organized through TOBB, Turkcell and TOBB Women Entrepreneurs Board cooperation, began on the 10th of June in 18 provinces with the participation of approximately 1400 women. Speaking in regards to the project, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu said that he believes in the power of the women who will engage with the technologies of the future.​

The first stage of the training, the face-to-face training stage, are carried out through chambers and commodity exchanges coordination.


TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that those who do not catch up with the age and developing technologies are condemned to be eliminated from the race and said, “The things we learned yesterday have lost their validity today. For this reason, as individuals, companies and as a country, we must follow and catch up with cutting edge technology. We have to be a pioneer in these technologies in order to succeed in the developing world. I’ve always believed in women. I believe that this project, which will bring them together with developing technologies, will have very positive results.”


Stating that she believes the Women Writing the Future Project will enable women in Turkey to gain a very different vision, TOBB Women Entrepreneurs Chairman Evrim Aras said, “We are launching an important project for women who are adapting to new technologies very quickly. Women entrepreneurs will be able to incorporate into ecosystems of technology and service companies, as well as developing applications that will make a difference in their businesses with the mobile software development skills they learn here.”


Women Writing the Future draws attention as the most widespread technology education carried out in Turkey to increase the competency of the younger and dynamic population of Turkey in current technologies.


The trainings given by the Turkcell ambassadors are being held at chambers and the commodity exchanges of the 18 provinces where the project will be implemented as well as at the TOBB Economy and Technology University, İstanbul Gedik University and İstanbul Aydın University.


Access to the women in the provinces was provided by the Provincial Boards of TOBB Women Entrepreneurs, Turkey's largest network of women entrepreneurs.


Training content was created by Turkcell. Participants will gain access to the online contents of the Women Writing the Future training accessed through www.turkcell.com.tr.


- Silicon Valley for successful trainees


Entrepreneur candidates who will be selected will visit Silicon Valley and get mentorship from the leading entrepreneurs in Turkey and with those who want to move their business forward meeting potential investors.


Of the attendees, 855 are graduate students, 336 are bachelor graduates, 74 are graduate students, 27 are associate degree graduates, 25 are associate degree students, 25 are graduate students, 9 are high school graduates, and 8 are doctoral graduates.


Number of applicants by province are: İstanbul 481, Ankara 256, İzmir 133, Karabük 59, Kayseri 52, Diyarbakır 50, Adana 46, Antalya 44, Eskisehir 44, Trabzon 33, Elazig 32, Gaziantep 32, Samsun 29, Aydın 16, Denizli 16, Sivas 14, Şanlıurfa 13, Van 9.


- Those unable to adapt to technology will lose


Experts, providing information the project stated that information and communication technologies bring about comprehensive changes in all areas of economic and social life, and the rapid spread of technologies such as inter-machine communication, artificial intelligence applications and massive data analysis have pointed to the fact that productivity increases are taking place across the economy, while many professions are being phased out.


According to experts, those who have the skills to develop and use the technology of the new era efficiently will be among the winners of the new era while those who cannot adapt to these technologies will lose.
