Stockholm University Turkey Studies Institute was opened with a ceremony honored by the President Abdullah Gül and His Majesty Carl XVI. Gustaf, King of Sweden. The ceremony was also attended by M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, President of TOBB, Prof. Astrid Söderbergh Widding, Vice-president of Stockholm University, Ahmed Davutoğlu, the Turkish Foreign Minister, Carl Bildt, the Swedish Foreign Minister, Prof. Levin, Director of Turkey Studies Institute, and Prof. Dr. Güven Sak, Vice-president of TOBB ETÜ.

Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, President of TOBB, Prof. Astrid Söderbergh Widding, Vice-president of Stockholm University, Ahmed Davutoğlu, the Turkish Foreign Minister, Carl Bildt, the Swedish Foreign Minister, Prof. Levin, Director of Turkey Studies Institute, and Prof. Dr. Güven Sak, Vice-president of TOBB ETÜ.
After the opening ceremony, M. Rifat HisarcıklıoÄŸlu, President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey, one of the leading sponsors of the institute, and Prof. Astrid Söderbergh Widding, Vice-president of Stockholm University signed a cooperation agreement.  Â
In addition, the agreement signed by Prof. Dr. Güven Sak, Director of TEPAV and Vice-president of TOBB ETÜ and Prof. Astrid Söderbergh Widding started a long-term collaboration between the two universities.
