Hisarcıklıoğlu attends B20 Summit in China

In China alongside the President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for the G20 Summit, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu attended the opening ceremony of the Business20 Summit.​

Attending the ceremony was held in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, with an opening keynote by Chinese President Xi Jinping were South African President Jacob Zuma, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu from Turkey.

Chinese Leader Xi said in his opening keynote, “The world is wondering whether China can maintain its steady growth. We have full confidence in our ability to maintain our development and offer opportunities for the global economy.”

B20 is the business world’s entrepreneurship group in G20. Also attending the summit attended by President Erdoğan hosted by China will be leaders of Chad, Egypt, Kazakhstan, Laos, Senegal, Singapore, Spain and Thailand.

In Hangzhou, Zhejiang for the B20 China Summit, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu met with IMF Chair Christine Lagarde to talk about developments in Turkey. During the meeting, Lagarde extended her condolences to the Turkish nation.

Meeting with World Bank Chair Kim and OECD Secretary General Gurria for discussing various issues, Hisarcıklıoğlu also exchanged views with Alibaba owner Jack Ma. Hisarcıklıoğlu discussed projects to increase trade with Turkey.
