Hisarcıklıoğlu praises Erzincan for geographical indication

Visiting the Erzincan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TSO) and Erzincan Commodity Exchange, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu impressed the importance of geographical indications for preserving quality, “The Erzincan Tulum cheese has become a brand but it is imperative that it acquires geographical indication so it is identical everywhere.”​

TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, during his Erzincan visit with Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım, visited the Erzincan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TSO) and Erzincan Commodity Exchange along with AK Party Vice Chair and former Minister Hayati Yazıcı.

Hisarcıklıoğlu listened to the views of residents in regards to economy and commerce, emphasizing the importance of branding.

- Exchange visit

Erzincan Commodity Exchange Chair Necmi Yapınca, hosting Hisarcıklıoğlu, said in his speech that the city has a potential of 95,000 large and 200,000 small livestock. Yapınca reported that there are significant efforts in dairy farming, stating that the region yields and average of 4,000 tons of Tulum cheese.

- Chamber visit

The delegation visited the Erzincan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TSO) afterwards. the Erzincan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TSO) Chair Süleyman Sarak gave a welcoming speech, presenting Parliament Speaker Mehmet Erkan Hatipoğlu with information on the expectations and issues of the city; emphasizing the fact that Erzincan is classified as a 4th region city, whereas it should be classified as 5th or 6th.

Requesting that number of flights to the city be increased, Mehmet Erkan Hatipoğlu pointed to the need of low interest credit for traders.

AK Party Vice Chair and former Minister Hayati Yazıcı, addressing the wishes expressed for the city stated that these are not beyond possible.
