“The Çanakkale Naval Battle which ended on March 18th, 1915, in victory for us greatly effected the outcome of the pursuant ground battles. The Çanakkale Battles is our proclamation that we will never accept defeat in even the worst of conditions, that we have no alternative to freedom.
Everyone know how we come together as a nation in times of difficulty; how we never even consider our own lives when our homeland is on the line. Today, we require this unity and solidarity more than ever.
We owe first and foremost, the point we’ve reached as a country, to the heroic martyrs who are an example to the generations to come who sacrificed their lives for the homeland without a second thought and taught us what love of country means and the importance of freedom.
Our duty, and that of the generations which follow us, is to create a modern and developed country wherein peace and development reign, wherein everyone coexists in peace in a bright future. It is our dream to reach this goal and to never go back once we achieve it.
On behalf of the Turkish business community, it is with these thoughts and sentiments that I once again bow with respect and gratitude before the martyrs of Çanakkale and our great leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk and their hallowed memory.”
