16.02.2016 / Burdur

TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu attended the Contributors to Burdur Joint Award Ceremony, stating that every company in Burdur is a star and deserving of a medal.

Reporting that employment increase for Turkey in the last year has been 6% while Burdur has achieved 7%, TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu also stated that unemployment average for Turkey was 10% while Burdur outperformed the national average with 7%.

Talking about their expectations of the government Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “What we want is to be able to compete with other countries on a level playing field. Looking at costs for employment, we are number one in the world. We are increasing tax burdens while everyone else in the world is trying to figure out how to facilitate business. The government should either lift these tax burdens off our backs or avoid bringing new ones.”

- “We want to spread the use of QR coded cheques”

Stating that dishonored cheques have become a significant problem, Hisarcıklıoğlu reported that the number of cases waiting for court are 242,000, that if these cases are brought to a resolution with prison sentences, hundreds of thousands of people would be incarcerated.

Stressing the fact it is their goal to spread the use of QR coded cheques in trade, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “These cheques can provide information regarding their issuer once scanned into a cell phone. We need this. Conduct your business with QR coded cheques. Let’s spread their use. All banks are using QR coded cheques.”

Stating that they are waiting for the government to enact the reforms which it promised, TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “I am hopeful for Turkey’s future. All that we want from politicians is to focus on the structural reforms they promised us. We experienced the highest growth rates of our country between 2003 and 2007, and why? Because we focused on structural reforms. This is what the government promised us. If we can achieve this together, we will spring forth.”
