19.10.2015 / Iğdır

TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, speaking at the opening of the middle school built by the Iğdır Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the county of Aralık, stressed the fact that Iğdır borders on three countries, pointing out the huge market volume this offers.

Stating that where there is trade, there is prosperity, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “In this regard, Iğdır has great potential. Iğdır’s economy indicates this as well. Compared to many places in Turkey, Iğdır has better stats. I would like to congratulate the students; you live at the very edge of Turkey, in Aralık. A lot of work falls to them and their parents. You must work harder and put in more effort than elsewhere. You should view living here as an opportunity instead of misfortune. That is more conducive to success. There are plenty of people who achieved success who are from here.”

Emphasizing the importance of investing in education in order to design the future, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “Investing in education benefits not just you, but the whole country.”

Customs and Commerce Minister Cenap Aşçı also extended his well wishes for the school.

Following the speeches, TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu and Minister Aşçı toured the school and engaged in conversation with the students.

Afterwards, TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu and Minister Aşçı left carnations at the terror attack which caused the deaths of 13 police officers at the Dilucu Customs Gate.
