“August 30th is our word that we will live free forever, together”

In his press release regarding the August 30th Victory Day, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that the victory gained at the Battle of Dumlupınar is the word of our nation that it will live free and in solidarity, saying, “By preserving these values forever and taking big steps in civilization we will exult the spirits of our ancestors and the souls of our martyrs.”
Hisarcıklıoğlu said in his message:
“We are once again proudly celebrating the anniversary of the Battle of Dumlupınar, ‘the Field Battle of the Commander-in-Chief,’ which began on the 26th of August and ending with victory under Mustafa Kemal’s leadership in Dumlupınar.
As the great Atatürk said, our very core embraces the principle of peace at home, peace abroad.
With that said, we have proved many times over that we will fearlessly unite as one against those who would target our freedom and homeland.
August 30th Victory is the most important and meaningful of these proofs.
Our duty as the Turkish business community is to work and invest tirelessly to enable our nation to reach peace and higher economic power.
We will pursue this goal to the end.
We express our most heartfelt gratitude to our martyrs and veterans, especially Veteran Mustafa Kemal Atatürk. Happy August 30th Victory Day to our nation.”
