TOBB in the presence of Atatürk

01.05.2015 / Ankara

The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB), on the occasion of its 71st Annual General Assembly, visited Anıtkabir to stand in the presence of Atatürk; a delegation led by TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu and comprised of the TOBB General Assembly Chair, TOBB Board, Councils, chamber and exchange presidents as well as various delegates.

Hisarcıklıoğlu wrote in the memorial ledger the following:

“Our Great Leader, Atatürk,

We, the administrators and delegates of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey, stand before you on our 71st General Assembly.

This year, we are commemorating one of the greatest sagas of our history, the centennial anniversary of the Çanakkale Victory and we recognize once again the immense value of this most holy inheritance you’ve left us. Our inheritance is the result of a great and honorable fight for liberation.

Our Republic, founded as a result of the fight undertaken by you, your brothers in arms and our nation, has garnered praise throughout the world and is a constant source of honor and pride for future generations.

As the Turkish business community, we will protect this great charge and honor you’ve given us to the very end. This, our homeland, is our honor; just as it was for those who came before and will be for those who follow after us.

It is the mission of the Turkish business community to reach the furthest goals in the race of civilizations, and to carry the economic power of our country to the highest level, to open up new opportunities for employment through new and great investments and to increase the prosperity of our country.

We vow in your hallowed presence to work towards this goal with all our strength.

Great Atatürk,

On behalf of our community, we celebrate your memory and all who contributed to the foundation and development of our Republic.

The Republic of Turkey will endure forevermore. May you rest in peace.”
