Turkish business and sports communities lost an important figure with Ali Osman Ulusoy

TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu released a press statement in regards to the passing of Ali Osman Ulusoy, an important figure in Turkish business and sports communities. Stating that Ulusoy was a very respectable and valued person, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “Ali Osman Ulusoy, who rendered great services for Turkey will never be forgotten.”​

Hisarcıklıoğlu extended his condolences to Ulusoy’s family and loved ones on behalf of the Turkish business community and prayed for the grace of Allah on him, ending with, “May heaven be his abode.”

Ali Osman Ulusoy finished primary school in 1938 and went into business with his father. Working in transportation, auto, accommodations, maritime, energy and logistics fields as the Chairman of Ulusoy Holding, he was also the Turkey-Iran Business Council President and the Trabzon Chamber of Commerce Council Chairman (TTSO). He was also president for Trabzonspor during the 1967-1968 seasons – the first president of the club as well as one of its founders.

 

Having taken on the role of TOBB Board Member and Board Vice President, Ulusoy contributed greatly to the solution of issues with Iran in regards to various pricing and taxation issues affecting Turkey during his Busienss Council Presidency. Ulusoy passed away on the first of October, 2014, at the International Hospital in İstanbul from pneumonia.
