Romanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Draban visited Hisarcıklıoğlu

Romanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Mihai Draban, Romanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Turkey Consultant Haldun Özbek and Romanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Secretary General Traian Caramanian visited TOBB President Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu.​

The visit took place at the İstanbul TOBB Plaza during which TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu congratulated Draban on his election to the Presidency of the Romanian Chamber of Commerce and Industry and expressed his belief that the Romanian Chambers’ endeavors will be improved with his involvement.


Emphasizing that Romania is very important for the Turkish business community, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “The Turkish private sector’s first international experience in the 90s was with Romania. Your proactive approach to furthering our cooperation as evidenced by this visit is a vision of the things to come. I am confident that we can further the cooperation between our two countries. There are no disagreements between our governments; we work together in international platforms. I would also like to thank you for your support for our country’s EU membership. We will sign an agreement to increase our cooperation, establishing a work committee between our Chambers. I extend my wishes for the fruitful labors of this committee.”


- Efforts to further strategic partnership


The guest Chambers President Draban thanked Hisarcıklıoğlu for his sentiments and stated that they are currently working to increase the prestige of their chamber. Draban said, “We are working closely with the Turkish businessmen in Romania. There are 13,500 Turkish private sector representatives in Romania, to this end, we would like to develop our strategic partnership with you.”


Pointing out that there are significant opportunities for cooperation, especially in the fields of energy and transportation, Draban said, “Köstence stands at the mouth of the Danube; we have a project to utilize the Danube for transportation to Central European countries, additionally Romania is very suitable for wind energy investments. We invite Turkish companies to Romania.”
