Chambers and exchanges will cooperate with academia

Speaking at the Academic Consultants in 81 Provinces Meeting, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that the economy will gain strength as the chambers and exchanges do and pointed to the importance of information sharing between the business community and academics.​

The Academic Consultants in 81 Provinces Meeting took place at the TOBB Union Center. TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu said in his speech that the project would support the development of chambers and exchanges as well as contributing to the careers of the academics taking part in it. Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that the development of chambers and exchanges will result in gains for their cities and, by extension, the country.

 

“Birds of a feather stick together,” said Hisarcıklıoğlu and stressed the importance of teamwork.

 

- The world’s changing, it must be observed carefully

 

TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that changes in the world must be carefully observed. Stating that the financial map of the world is changing, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “The overabundance of money has come to an end.”

 

Stating that the rules of commerce are also changing, the TOBB President reported that the economic giants of the world are instating new trade agreements. He drew attention to the Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) between the USA and the EU. Reporting that two thirds of the world’s economy will consolidate itself into a single market, Hisarcıklıoğlu talked about the disadvantages of being left out of this structure.

 

Also stating that the energy map of the world will change, Hisarcıklıoğlu reported that the USA will become viable for energy investments once again with its shale gas production. Pointing out that there will be an significant growth to the middle class in the next 10 years, Hisarcıklıo0ğlu said that cities rather than countries would be competing. The TOBB President emphasized the fact that half of the world’s economy is represented by just 600 large companies. Stating that it is a time to be importing entrepreneurs, Hisarcıklıoğlu said that countries with more entrepreneurs, who draw in more of them, will get ahead.

 

M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu also provided information in regards to the various endeavors and structure of TOBB.
