During the meeting, the Ambassador reported that the 50^th anniversary of the Turkish immigration to Belgium would be celebrated in 2014 and said that there would be events organized in both countries to commemorate the occasion.

TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu expressed that the trade with Belgium was not yet at a desired level and that when Belgium is mentioned, the EU comes to mind; going on to state that there is work to be done in regards to commerce and economy by both countries in order to remedy this situation.
