The Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that he thinks Turkey will become one of the top ten economies of the world.
Visiting the Düzce Chamber of Industry, TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu stated in his speech that TOBB, established under the Ankara Chamber of Commerce in a single room, now operates out of its own twin towers.
Drawing attention to the huge progress made by TOBB, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “This is a result of our unity. Thankfully, we have come to this point.”
Hisarcıklıoğlu pointed out that the Turkish contract construction sector has taken on a record amount of contracts in Turkmenistan and said, “In the last month, the total volume of contracts won has reached 4.7 billion USD. This is a record for the Turkish private sector in the Turkmenistan history. We can’t slack off while they work day and night. See how far we’ve come. During out 2002 General Assembly we said, ‘Turkey will be one of the top ten economies of the world.’ The government has set this as their goal as well. I believe that Turkey will be among the world’s top ten economies.”
After the speeches, TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu presented the members of the Düzce Chamber of Commerce and Industry with plaques and memorial stamps to commemorate TOBB’s 60th anniversary.
