In his Fathers’ Day message, TOBB President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu said that families, the backbone of society, grow stronger with the feelings trust and love of the father and said, “Our fathers are the greatest teachers in our lives. The principles of honesty, benevolence and truthfulness they’ve taught us are the most precious treasure we will possess.”

In his message, Hisarcıklıoğlu said:

“The word father calls to mind first of all the concepts of belonging, trust and altruism. Their virtues are the greatest inheritance to their children. A father cannot leave a greater inheritance to his children than infusing them with the virtues of truthfulness, honesty, hard work and sharing.

In our culture, fathers are like a great sycamore tree, spreading over their family and loved ones. They protect and embrace everyone who takes refuge in their shade. We shouldn’t forget the significance of our fathers and elders. We must know their dearness before we lose them.

As children we should show them our love every day of the year, not just on Fathers’ Day and strive to be beneficent children to the nation. This is the greatest gift we can give our fathers.

It is with these thoughts and feelings that I, on behalf of the Turkish business world, present my respect and love to all fathers, foremost among them the fathers of martyrs, and congratulate their Fathers’ Day.
