Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey

The representatives of the NGOs established by Turks abroad who were in Turkey for the “Meeting of the Nongovernmental Organization Living Abroad” as part of the Prime Ministry Turks Abroad and Relative Communities Branch, met with TOBB/DEİK and DTİK President M. Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu for dinner.

Hisarcıklıoğlu, in his speech prior to the dinner, said, “If 800,000 Turks in Germany, with its 80 million population, can’t have a say, then we should look for the fault in ourselves.”

Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that TOBB has found employment for 1.3 million people in the last year and has invested 140 million Dollars in Turkey.

Also providing information regarding the Foreign Economic Affairs Council (DEİK), Hisarcıklıoğlu stated that DEİK was established to promote the private sector abroad.

Stating that TOBB was not a member in any international organizations 10 years ago, Hisarcıklıoğlu said that he is the vice president of the European Unions Chamber and said, “Turkey has come to the point where we are looking out for the rights of European businessmen.”

Reporting that Turkey exports goods to over 200 countries, Hisarcıklıoğlu said that they are working to represent the Turkish business world in international organizations.

Pointing out that Turkey’s goal is to become one of the 10 largest economies in the world, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “We have the power to accomplish this.”

Stating that Turkish entrepreneurs are in every part of the world, Hisarcıklıoğlu said that Turkey is in a state of global expansion.

Reporting that a Jewish population of 6.2 million are present in the 300 million population of the USA, Hisarcıklıoğlu went on:

“The elected president salutes Israel on the whim of 6.2 million people. The politics of the USA, a world giant, are dictated by 6.2 million people. Are we as influential in Germany as the Jews are in the USA? No. Intelligent people look for faults in themselves. If 800,000 Turks lack influence in Germany with its population of 80 million then we should look to ourselves. It is important to be the president just as it is important to be around the president. We unite as a nation in dark days. Once we reach prosperity everyone heads off in a different direction. This is what we are afflicted with in Germany.”
