Stating that conditions are favorable for off-the-record economy, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “The higher the tax rates are, off-the-record economy will rise. Tax rates for fuel are high, that’s the reason for smuggling. The costs in the social security system have been lowered; the number of registered employees has increased. Lower taxes in petroleum and gas, smuggling will decrease. This will decrease shipping costs.”

Speaking at the meeting wherein the highest tax paying entrepreneurs in the Birecik county of Şanlıurfa province, Hisarcıklıoğlu praised Birecik’s land and said, “You are situated between Urfa and Gaziantep. Travelers to either pass through here.”

Stating that prosperity and grace will come if there’s unity and solidarity, TOBB President Hisarcıklıoğlu related the need for unity and solidarity in order to achieve branding in every province. Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “Appreciate the value of the riches in your hand and brand these. We produce hazelnuts but the added value is taken by foreigners. The exchange for it is in another country. Pay close attention to the partnership culture. We have not gotten a grasp on it. That is my plea to you.”

- Great opportunity in tourism

Reporting that there is a great tourism opportunity for the region, the TOBB President said, “You have history. You have the bald ibis. You need to utilize these opportunities.

Turkey is only as rich as you are. Tax awards are a matter of honor. Taxes are a responsibility just like prayer.”

- Private sector will take Turkey into the top 10

Stating that the new Incentives Law brings about many advantages, Hisarcıklıoğlu said, “You need to go to your neighbor Gaziantep and tell them to invest in Birecik.

Allah willing, Turkey will be among the top 10 economies of the world by 2023. It will be the Turkish private sector who achieves this. Being in the top 10 economies means this: 25,000 Dollars per capita income. Nobody will come to you if you just wait. You need to promote yourselves.”
